Catherine Ringer biography

Catherine Ringer is a French singer-songwriter, composer, actress and former adult performer born October 18, 1957 in Suresnes, France. A Gérardmer Festival biography records professional stage work beginning in the mid-1970s, including experimental theater, singing and dance.

During that same formative period, Ringer also appeared in adult films. Public records list several aliases and credits from that chapter, while a later interview quoted by Le Monde confirms that she spoke publicly about the experience after becoming famous.

In 1979, Ringer met Fred Chichin and formed Les Rita Mitsouko. The partnership lasted nearly three decades and produced a distinctive catalog at the intersection of French pop, rock, funk and experimental music.

After Chichin's death in 2007, Ringer continued composing, recording and touring under her own name. She released the solo album Ring n' Roll in 2011 and remained active across music, film and television projects.
