Mary Millington

Mary Millington, born Mary Ruth Maxted, was a British actress, model and publisher who became one of the most visible figures in British adult cinema during the 1970s. Born on November 30, 1945, in Kenton, Middlesex, England, United Kingdom, she established professional modeling and film work as the decade progressed. Her career crossed cinema, publishing and British public celebrity.

Her 1977 British film Come Play with Me became a long-running London theatrical success and a British box-office success. She continued acting in film near the end of the decade. Her professional modeling and publishing work remained part of her British film and public career during the 1970s, and she was also the subject of later biographical documentaries.

Millington died in Surrey on August 19, 1979. Her life and cultural legacy later became the subject of documentaries including Respectable: The Mary Millington Story, which revisited her life and career in 2016.
