Nielsen later explained that the archive was created when the network's earlier sites became large enough that older material needed to be separated from newer production.
The ATK ARCHIVES trademark was registered to Kingdom Worldwide Web Operations, Inc., providing a direct legal-company relationship for the brand even though the original trademark registration later lapsed.
