Asia Carrera

Asia Carrera, born Jessica Andrea Steinhauser in New York City, New York, United States, on August 6, 1973, is an American former adult performer, director, writer, and web creator. Her professional adult work began in 1993, and during the 1990s she became one of the most prominent performers in that field. In addition to performing, Carrera worked as a director, writer, and producer. She also built an early independent web presence and accumulated nearly 300 acting credits.

Carrera won AVN Female Performer of the Year in 1995. In 2000, she won AVN Best Couples Sex Scene — Film for Search for the Snow Leopard, a 1999 feature film. Appassionata, a 1997 video feature, is another of her feature works. She was inducted into the XRCO Hall of Fame in 2007.

Her career therefore spans performance, directing, writing, producing, and independent web publishing. The 1995 AVN award recognized her as Female Performer of the Year, while the 2000 AVN award honored her couples-scene work in Search for the Snow Leopard. Her XRCO Hall of Fame induction in 2007 added another career distinction. Carrera's independent web publishing formed part of her broader creative work. Her known works include the 1999 feature film Search for the Snow Leopard and the 1997 video feature Appassionata. Across these roles and honors, her professional activity joined screen performance with behind-the-camera and online creative work.
