Desiree Cousteau is an American former performer and actress born Deborah Clearbranch on January 1, 1956 in Savannah, Georgia.
She appeared in the mainstream exploitation film Caged Heat in 1974 before moving into adult production. Her defining adult-film breakthrough was Alex de Renzy's Pretty Peaches in 1978.
At the 1979 Adult Film Association of America awards, Cousteau won Best Actress for Pretty Peaches. Her other best-known work includes the 1979 pseudo-autobiographical feature Inside Désirée Cousteau.
Her later industry legacy was recognized with induction into the XRCO Hall of Fame in 1993 and the AVN Hall of Fame in 1997. Unverified stories about her private post-industry life are intentionally excluded.
