American adult-film performer Juliet Anderson became a defining Golden Age presence through her Aunt Peg persona and later Hall of Fame recognition.
Juliet Anderson was an American adult-film performer, director, producer, author, and relationship counselor who became closely identified with the Aunt Peg character. That persona defined her career as a defining mature performer of the Golden Age. Born on July 23, 1938, in Burbank, California, United States, she spent years teaching English in Japan, Mexico, Greece, and Finland before entering adult film at age 39, around 1977–1978. Her early Golden Age credit Pretty Peaches (1978) was a feature from this period.
During the 1980s, a period also linked to the Aunt Peg and production era, Anderson expanded from performance into producing and directing. She served as the producer on the 1984 feature/production Educating Nina, a project through which she also mentored Nina Hartley and other performers. A return to adult work in the 1990s resulted in Ageless Desire (1999), a video on which she served as producer. In 1999 she was inducted into the XRCO Hall of Fame, and she also earned AVN Hall of Fame recognition.
Beyond her film work, Anderson was an author and relationship counselor, and she was sometimes billed as Juliette Andersen. Her locations included both Burbank and Berkeley, California. She died in Berkeley on January 10, 2010, at age 71.
